We’re hiring a chef!

When Maiden Lane opened almost 5 years ago, our plan was to create Windsor’s best selection of beverages, with food playing a supporting role. Our approach was simple - source quality ingredients and create a menu that was uncomplicated and easy for a single person or our staff to plate and serve. But we know how good food can enhance an experience and we found our guests were often looking for a little more than meat and cheese. So, our food menu began to grow. We would add a dish here and there, switching things up with the seasons, until one day we realized we had created a pretty decent little snack menu. We had also created a lot of work for a single person to manage.

This means we’ve finally decided to look for someone who can not only offer some support in the kitchen but also take our food program to the next level. If you are creative, enjoy working independently, feel comfortable working in small spaces and have at least 2 years culinary experience then we’d love to meet you.

We are very serious about finding the right person, so there are a few important points we want to disclose. Our kitchen is tiny, and we’ve had to get creative with both equipment and, therefore, the dishes that we offer. That being said, we are willing to invest in tools, equipment, and storage that could maximize space and output. We’d be looking to you to help us best use our space.

This would start as a part time position and you would have to be available some weekends and nights but because this is a brand new role we are very flexible and open to negotiating a schedule that would work for the both of us. Knowledge of wine and spirits would be an asset but not a requirement.
